(DELMAR, NY) Congratulations are extended to the Latvian Lacrosse Federation who has successfully fulfilled the criteria to ‘hold’ a Women’s Sector vote.
The FIL Board approved the change of status for Latvia Lacrosse Federation. This additional women’s program raises the European count to 13 nations and internationally to 23 women’s programs.
This criteria included meeting a minimum number of women players, coaches, officials, having a structured domestic competition and having achieved 2 of the following: competed in 1 FIL or FIL recognized event, competed against a FIL member in at least 2 organized matches or hosted a FIL or FIL recognized event.
The Latvian women competed in their first European Lacrosse Championship in June, 2012, and performed remarkably well for their first ever international competition.
The FIL Women’s Sector officially welcomes Latvia!
