2013 World Cup Schedule of Play Released

(OSHAWA, ONTARIO CANADA) FIL is pleased to announce that the 2013 Women’s World Cup schedule of play has been released.

2013 is the largest ever Women’s World Cup, with 19 teams competing from four continents.

Hong Kong, Israel, Latvia and Sweden will be competing in their first ever FIL Women’s event and Canada is hosting their first ever Senior World Cup.

The event will be played over 10 days, commencing with an Opening Ceremony on Wednesday 9 July and concluding with the gold medal game, as well as other final matches, on Saturday 20 July.

Championship Bracket

Following pool play teams will be seeded into a Championship Bracket of 12 teams and a Diamond Consolation Bracket of seven teams. The Championship Bracket will be the teams in Pool A, the top 2 teams in Pools B, C and D and the next highest ranked team. The seven teams in the Diamond Consolation Bracket will be reseeded into two new pools, X and Y, based on rankings and teams previously played in the pool play.
